Prologue

At level 40, characters can learn to ride mounts. Some classes need to buy the skills and mounts, so may get them later, but in any case they increase speed and reduce travel time by at least 60%! They also allow safer transportation through the more dangerous areas of the world =)
I was lucky enough to have a Warlock as my main character so got a free one at level 40 (as do Paladins).

The following are pictures of players and their mounts in various locations.




HERE I am with my BRAND new level 40 Warlock horse! Such a fiery Steed! Luckily for me, Warlocks get a free one and can summon him at will :-D Here's a closeup of Harana and her new trusty mode of transport. This is the first pic I took with a guild member, Alatar. We were off to get his Pally quest in ShadowFang Keep. Here I galloped to meet my friend Seederwood playing his Rosered char in IronForge to work on some tailoring for her.
My Elf Druid was the next to get a nightsabre tiger! Rogue picked up a Black Stallion.. check out the evil grin on him HA!. Perfect for my sinister looking Rogue ;-) Here I show the rogue mounted on a boat. You have to edge to the end of the rope ladder to get it to work. Another view of same. Yet another view.
Here's my Druid mounted on a boat in a similar fashion. Same thing with my Warlock. Another view of Warlock. Here another fellow and I happened to mount simultaneously :-P My mage finally got her blue ostrich mount :)
This is her on a boat, as the others were. Here is my Warrior Dwarf's ram mount! Here he is mounted on a boat. Then a party member and I shared a crate :-P After much farming, I finally got a mount for Arathornia as well!
