Prologue

In WoW, Hunters get a pet at level 10 and Warlocks get various types throughout the game, BUT you can also purchase or win other non-combative pets through quests and such. Here are some of the various types, temporary and permanent.

Here is my Hunter with a pet bat I got in Uldaman. Was tough to tame at level 39 Elite! This stealthy panther cat she got in STV. She picked up a scorp in Tanaris. At one point I met a fellow who had the special edition of WoW and he had chosen Mini Diablo as his free pet.. HA! Such a cute lil guy! My Warrior picked up a fluffy white kitten in Stormwind.
On a quest in Razorfen Kraul, my Warlock was given a gopher. My quest partner had one too, as they snuffled out tubers. In Westfall I did a quick chicken quest and got a Prairie Chicken as a reward :D In May the orphans were given a treat as a quest allowed us to show them around Azeroth. A whistle would call and dismiss the little fellow :) Here my Paladin takes him on a boat ride to Theramore. A quest in BRD offered a worg pup as remuneration.
My horde char here attempts to tame a Stalker. Then a Swoop. My mage engineer could mage all kinds of gadgets including this mini Harvest Reaper to help in battle. Next was a Battle Chicken! And finally a Dragonling.
My Warlock got am Imp as a first battle pet. Then a Void. Here a Felhunter was a quest prize and I also picked up a Parrot in Booty Bay. A Succubus was yet another helper. The Infernal was the most powerful, but hard to control. Beware as he can turn on you and has to be tamed again before he strikes!
My Paladin got a bunny rabbit at Amberstill Ranch in Dun Morogh. Mr. Rogue picked up a silver tabby in Elwynn Forest. My Hunter purchased an owl to keep her company in Darnassus.
